In recent years the use of the laser pointer has increased manifold. In such a situation, it is necessary for us to know how to handle the entire laser pointer. As we have discussed while using some high-powered laser pointer we must take some protection. It is because such lasers; particularly class III b and IV can cause permanent damage to our eyes. Therefore while using such lasers it is strongly recommended to use some eye protective measures. Very often while working operator do not become careful to use such protections. They remove the protections off and on. It also has been seen that operators in many occasion do not muse it at all.

Some even feel it more irritating. In some occasions people find it more inconvenient with the optical experiment. It is because; spectroscopy’s experimental arrangement is under constant modification. Further, it also requires knowledge of beam location. In such a situation, it is well understood that safety takes back seat. Scientists and operators give top priority on contingency and comfort. It has been seen that people openly breach the safety norms. Sometime it becomes unavoidable to forget safety norms. If we take example of R and B laser, which requires apt selection of OD (Optical Density) of protective wear, but few people bother about it.

If we look for a universal guideline of laser, then we must remember the following things. Firstly As an operator must know all the risks that available with the laser beam. Secondly, we cannot even ignore long-term risks that are associated with the laser beam. Highly reflected materials must be avoided. Similarly high intensity beam paths should be guided properly. The most important measure regarding protection is that every user of the laser must wear protective eyewear. But you should remember that by using simply a safety wear couldn’t serve the purpose. No one can give you guarantee in this regard.
