Adjusting the Aperture and Testing the Accuracy of It

Aperture of the blue lens is the most vital part that makes the quality of the readability of the lens. It is necessary to maintain the lens from the cleaning perspective and accordingly to adjust the aperture. There is certain test also to measure the accuracy of the aperture.

The aperture portion of the lens can be dismantled in several small components. After opening it , it is always advisable not to tamper or disturb the small pieces of plastics, these acts like cushion in between the shutter body and the small sized screws of the lens. It is a vital part of the maintenance of the lens to reassemble the components after the cleansing process.

After the cleaning of the lens is over to reattach shutter of the aperture assembly we need to look on the opposite of the shutter assembly to find out the actuator arm and the hole in it. The aperture shutter assembly along with the laser body should be align in the way in that the pin, coming out from the heat sink from the hole located in the actuator arm. We need to place these together, and while the aperture shutter assembly keeps flushing with the laser, the aperture shutter ring needs to be rotated from one side to other as in normal operation to ensure that the shutter operates easily and it remain in the normal way. It is very important that it should be over tightened. Because the over tightened, shutter screw prevents the assembly from further rotation.

Divergence test:
1. Always need to wear a protector to protect the yes from the laser radiation.
2. We need to project the beam with a matte black metal at least of a distance of 1m.
3. We need to measure the beam size in the unit of millimeters
4. We need to measure the beam again from 11m DISTANCE. This time power will be 20% less than the previous reading.
5. We need to subtract the value of 1m by 11m and divide the amount by 10.This is the appropriate amount of divergence in millimeter. And aperture can be calculated for this calculation it self.
